SIQUIJOR

The first time I heard the place Siquijor was years ago as I was watching TV. This place is popular mainly because of witchcraft, magic potions and sorcerers. Never have I imagined being in that place until 2017 came. My buddy is from Dumaguete and my summer class is about to end so, she invited me to come with her in her hometown and here's how to get to Siquijor from Dumaguete or Bohol ðŸ˜€

Here is the schedule of oceanjet from and Tagbilaran-Siquijor-Tagbilaran and Dumaguete-Siquijor-Dumaguete
(I PREFER OCEANJET BECAUSE IT'S THE FASTEST WAY TO GET THERE)
Attached as well are the contacts of oceanjet ;)

Upon exiting the Port of Siquijor, you'll see tricycle drivers waiting and at the same time offering their services with their small flyer indicating the tariff rates for tricycle and multicab for tourists to be guided ;)

If you happened to be a group of 4, then I suggest you go for a tricycle Island tour which costs 1000 php so your group could enjoy the tour without time pressure. The tour consumes 6-8 hours.

COASTAL TOUR INCLUDES:

Welcome To Siquijor (for picture taking)
I Love Siquijor (for picture taking)
Paliton Beach (FREE ENTRANCE)
Capilay Spring park (FREE ENTRANCE)

The oldest and biggest 400 year old BALETE TREE in the province which locals believe to be associated with the supernatural and enchanted. From there you can also have a fish spa which costs 10 pesos and you can also buy souvenirs from the small stall located just beside the Balete tree. Voodo dolls, Love potions, and Shirts are some items you woud see in the stall.

CAMBUGAHAY FALLS
Parking fee costs 25 pesos and I highly recommend drinking water before going down a 135 steps to see the falls' beauty.
The tour guide isn't compulsory but at least get one, this would be a great help for them and they do not have fixed rates so please have one for your safety and for taking pictures as well. They are great photographers :))
DON'T FORGET TO TRY THEIR SWING ;)

SAN ISIDRO LABRADOR CHURCH
 also known as
LAZI CHURCH

One of the oldest church in the island where you can see the oldest and the largest convent in Asia.
Entrance fee in the convent costs 20pesos where you can see religious artifacts, and wood carved saints.
PICTURE TAKING IS NOT ALLOWED INSIDE THE CONVENT.

 SALAGDOONG BEACH RESORT
One of the most popular beaches in Siquijor filled with locals and foreigners.
Entrance fee costs 25 pesos each and a parking fee of 25 pesos.
The resort offers snorkeling gears which costs around 150-200 pesos where you can already enjoy the scenery down below for its amazing marine life. They are currently building a marine sanctuary. You can have unlimited use of their diving equipments and as well use their floaters for 400php.
BE CAREFUL! YOU MIGHT NOT WANNA STEP ON SEA URCHINS ;)
If you are into cliff jumping, TRY THEIR 20 AND 30 FEET JUMPING HEIGHTS!

WHERE TO STAY IN SIQUIJOR?

We stayed in Coral Cay Beach Resort on our first tour in Siquijor year 2017.
The beach didn't looked that good. Photo below was taken June,2017.
The good thing is, you can take pretty good instagramable photos during sunset ;)

 Last month, April 1st
We stayed in Islander's Paradise Beach Resort.
We arrived around 5pm and there you would see locals looking for shells for their dinner.
As we got close to them, we saw baby sea urchins (the black ones), plenty of starfish and many more tiny sea creatures.
We then asked if they knew people who sell sea urchins as we were curious of how it tastes like and surprisingly, they managed to get some and opened it for us to taste... FOR FREE! and here's how it looked like.

STARFISHHHH :)
DON'T FORGET TO PUT THEM BACK IN THE WATER :D

Here are some pictures of the lovely sunset from the resort
Who would wanna miss the great view of the sea in the morning?

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESORT IF YOU WANT A QUIET AND RELAXING AMBIANCE!
We were the only local tourists who checked in there and the rest were foreigners.
